Make a Choice: War or Peace? Trayvon Martin Tribute…

I had a brief dialogue with an individual today regarding this topic so I found relevancy in posting it…

Someone on Facebook today suggested, and I quote… “Let’s start a national petition to execute George Zimmerman legally.”

I respond:  “No.”

He says:  “Why not?”

I respond:  ”Aside from the obvious fact that no one in the “nation” was there to even know exactly what went down…

Aside from the fact that it is inherently diabolical to judge the man under the subjective premises of “he said, she said” accounts…

Most notably, men have the right to life and even if a man kills he still reserves the right to life.  This is not to say killing is right but no vote, consensus nor man made law can infringe upon these rights of man.  Rights are not privileges they cannot be revoked by any consensus because they are endowed to man by his nature…

This is a republic, not a democracy, and within a republic one cannot vote to seize ones rights, the right to life, liberty, the pursuit of happiness & property. (In fact the founding fathers loathed democracy, quoting it as “two wolves and one sheep voting on what’s for dinner” and “mob rule”.) That is the main distinction between a democracy and a republic…

Lastly and most simply, Violence cannot solve violence. What about this doesn’t make sense?

Objectivity is the key to truth.”

He responds:  “F**k that. Kill that predatory racist motherf***er.”

I Respond:  “That, my friend, epitomizes the problem.  Does this act not suggest the very same predatory means, based on preconceived labels, as a solution? It is sinister, cynical, cyclical and not solution orientated by any means.   A problem cannot be solved by that which created the problem to begin with.”

It seems as though I often, so vehemently, sing this same song….

Kony a Freedom Fighter?: Interview With Joseph Kony & Troops…

In this video a journalist is allowed to interview LRA Leader, Joseph Kony. Here are some key points of the video.

-Kony claims that the President of Uganda is responsible for the mutilation & kidnapping of children and placing the blame on the LRA and Joseph Kony.

-Kony claims that he is a freedom fighter and his cause is to liberate and allow the people of Uganda to elect their leader via a democratic form of government.

-Kony claims that the allegations of child abduction made against him are merely propaganda facilitated by the Ugandan government to taint his image and undermine his army’s true objectives.

-Kony claims that each member of his army volunteered in order to protect themselves and one another from the corrupt Ugandan government.

I also observed that there were absolutely no children in his army

A question everyone should ask themselves after watching this video – Could Kony truly be a freedom fighter whose alleged agenda, to liberate Ugandan citizens, is being undermined by corrupt Ugandan government officials in order maintain power within their nation?

Disclaimer: I am not, as an individual, condoning war or any illegitimate crimes on humanity in any form or fashion. I ultimately believe that war should cease to exist. I am merely reporting an alternative perspective of the Kony story objectively in order to inform and convey a more holistic view of the story. As there are three sides to every story. Theres one side, the other side and the truth….

Kony a Fony?

Saddam is dead, Osama is dead, Gadaffi is dead and now we have Kony.  Great.   Just what we needed, a new enemy.  Another reason to wage an endless war funded by tax payers… Before we jump to any conclusions, may we recall that the U.S. financed and armed Sadam Husein, Al Qaeda & Osama Bin Laden…

If we change ourselves we can then change the world.  If the United States continues to set a militaristic example of itself, as the world leader, many other nations shall follow.  We cannot expect peace to manifest by waging war.  War in all forms is an injustice and it cannot be solved by that which created the problem to begin with, war.  War will never solve war.  Killing can never justify killing.  A moral imperative cannot be used to justify war as the road to hell is often paved in good intentions.  Yes, Kony and his army is a disastrous situation though fighting guns with guns will just cause more casualties and more problems.  This is not even taking into consideration the economic ramifications a new war would have on our nation.  Evil shall eliminate itself so there is no need for Good to commit evil acts to wage war against evil.  War is a vicious cycle that will continue unless we begin to peacefully assemble and organize with the initiative to end ALL wars without the usage of force and the imposition of our will on inferior nations. We must look in the mirror, as a nation, before we judge.  The most effective means of facilitating and achieving world peace is simply by being peaceful. Waging war will not and cannot solve the problem.  As emotionally appealing as it may seem to go to war for this cause, the notion of a moral obligation to engage in this war must not escalate or we will find ourselves in a situation highly similar to Vietnam. The massive censorship of wars has created an illusion of war that makes it seem patriotic and righteous but it is not. If the masses were to view the murdering and killing of thousands of people war would cease to exist.  Killing is immoral no matter what purpose, reason or justification one may have for it.  If you truly believe that Kony and his army should die then grab a gun, go to Uganda and suit up yourself to fight for the cause.

Below are a few facts about the Invisible Children activist group that began the KONY2012 frenzy.

-Their budget for last year was $8,676,614.

-The percentage of the money that went to direct aid was 32%.

-The other 68% was spent on film making, travel expenses, and other miscellaneous uses.

The expense report is available to the public at http://www.aidforafrica.org/wp-content/uploads/2009/09/50299_financial.pdf

-Invisible Children supports the usage of military intervention and assisting the Ugandan military with weapons and training. Yet, the Uganda army has been accused of corruption, rape and theft.

-Kony’s army is composed of children, yet we are arming Ugandan forces to eliminate them in order to punish Kony for the same exact crime?

-Kony is nowhere to be found in Uganda.
